Duvet wash
It is crucial to have your Duvet cleaned regularly. After all, your down not only collects sweat, oils, dead skin cells and other dirt, but also dust mites and pollen. This dirt can cause the down filling to clump together and cause the duvet to lose its warmth. So to maintain its quality and warmth, it is important to have your Duvet cleaned regularly, preferably by a professional dry cleaner.
Can you wash a Duvet ?
Cleaning your Duvet yourself is a delicate process. Indeed, too high temperature, too high pressure or too aggressive detergent can have pernicious effects on your blanket. Moreover, it can also harm your washing machine. Indeed, a lot of washing machines are not adequately equipped and have too small a drum to wash your quilt. If you put the blanket in the washing machine anyway, the appliance may break down, a cost you obviously want to avoid at all costs. So for these reasons, it is highly recommended to have your Duvet washed by a dry cleaner.
If you still take up the challenge and want to refresh your own comforters, always check the washing instructions on the label attached to your down. Not all washing instructions are the same and some duvets should not be machine washed at all.
If your blanket can indeed go in the washing machine, use the appropriate washing products and limit the temperature to zo'n 40° to 60° (unless the washing instructions state otherwise). As far as the washing instructions allow, you can also throw the blanket in the dryer afterwards along with two to three tennis balls to zo speed up the drying process.
Have your Duvet deeply cleaned by a lavanderia a secco
Even if you choose to do it yourself, it's still important to have your Duvet taken care of by a dry cleaner from time to time as well. After all, a professional cleaning is much more intense, thorough and careful. It also kills all dust mites and bacteria. By the way, by having a professional cleaning you not only enjoy the highest sleeping comfort but also prolong the life of your duvet. After all, if you have your down properly cared for, it will last an average of 10 to 15 years.
How often should you wash your Duvet ? It is sufficient to wash your Duvet once or twice a year. During the rest of the year, you can shake your down daily and hang it outside for ventilation two to three times a year.

How we wash a Duvet ?
1 - Inspection & repair
Before we wash your Duvet , we always start with a careful inspection of the blanket. Any loose seams are repaired and/or other minor repairs are made so that the blanket can withstand the cleaning process.
2 - Specialized wash program
Then your down goes into our professional cleaning equipment, which is specifically designed to clean down comforters thoroughly but gently. Because this equipment has a larger capacity than your home washing machine, the duvet has plenty of room to move freely during cleaning.
3 - Professional cleaning
We always use mild and professional cleaning products. These products are specially designed to be effective in removing dirt and stains while also being sufficiently gentle on the delicate down feathers and fabric of the blanket.
4 - Thorough rinsing
After cleaning, your down gets a thorough rinse to ensure that all cleaning agents are completely removed, and then the blanket is placed in a special centrifuge to extract excess water.
5 - Controlled drying process
The drying process is a crucial step in washing a Duvet. We use special drying equipment with controlled temperatures so that the Duvet is dried evenly and completely. This helps prevent clumping and damage to the down feathers.
6 - Whipping & finishing
After drying, your Duvet is carefully whipped to restore airiness and volume to the down feathers. Any remaining lumps are carefully broken apart, allowing the blanket to regain its original shape and softness.
